Salem, MA - Zuiderdam - Canada/New England - June 20, 2025

After a nice breakfast at the hotel, my sister, niece, nephew, and I headed out for the day.  We had made plans to take the ferry to Salem.  Instead of grabbing a bus, we decided to walk the 1.6+ miles to the harbor where the ferry leaves from.  This gave us a chance to do some sightseeing along the way and I'm really glad we did.  It was a beautiful morning for such a walk!  But first, we took a glimpse at the Norwegian Jewel which was docked near our hotel.

We snagged prime outdoor seats so we could get some good photographs as we left the Boston Harbor.

Boston has quite a few different ferries headed different directions.

Once in Salem, we headed to the Salem Witch Museum as we had timed tickets and wanted to make sure we were on time.

Then we wandered down a fun pedestrian street with lots of shops and restaurants.

This should have been our warning that this was a dying mall and the bathrooms inside would be in pretty bad shape!

We stopped at a really neat memorial site for those who lost their lives to the witch trials.

And then we headed back to find shade to wait for the ferry.  We rode in the covered part of the upper level of the ferry this time as we had had enough sun!  Once back in Boston, we were only a couple blocks from Faneuil Hall and the Quincy Market so I encouraged everyone to find just a bit more energy to briefly check it out.  My niece and nephew wanted to do a little Boston souvenir shopping and so it wasn't hard to convince them.

We met my brother-in-law at Tony C's Seaport where I had a great watermelon and shrimp salad.

We walked the last few blocks to the hotel and needing some downtime, I retired to my room with my niece to spend a little time on my photos and blog before bed.
