Baraboo and the Dells Daytrip

For our anniversary we decided to take a day trip the Baraboo/Dells area.  I didn't bring along my camera as I didn't want to lug it around but for some reason put my Kindle Fire HD in my purse.  So I thought I would see what it could do for photos and videos.  It did pretty good!  (So much for not bringing a camera around.)  I had to compress them as they were too big and Blogger appears to have further compressed them so they are a bit grainy or blurry when watched full screen.

We started at our favorite, The International Crane Foundation.

We were there right after it opened and went straight to the Whooping Crane Exhibit which is an incredible exhibit where you can sit and just watch the pair of cranes in their natural habitat.  Here are a few videos:

Here are a few other videos of the various cranes at the International Crane Foundation:

And a video of a sparrow that wasn't shy at all:

Then we went to Mirror Lake State Park and hiked the Northwest Trail (2.3 miles) which was a very pretty trail with occasional views of Mirror Lake.

For lunch we stopped at Little Village Cafe in Baraboo where the food was delicious.

After lunch, we took the Lost Canyon Tour in the Dells which was well worth it.  It was entertaining.  The scenery was beautiful and we saw a baby fox and a raccoon.

Here is the baby fox.

Here is the raccoon.
