Celebrity Constellation Cruise - Belize City, Belize - November 9, 2021

Again, I was awake as the sun's light started appearing in the sky and so snuck out to the balcony to enjoy the quiet and beauty of a sunrise over the open water.

After the sun rose, I once again went down to Cafe al Bacio to get an Almond Milk Latte to enjoy on the balcony while Paul got ready for breakfast.

Here are a few photos of the Rendezvous Lounge that we would walk through each morning to get to breakfast.

After breakfast in Luminae, we headed back up to the room to see if the room was ready.  On our way up, we found a few interesting sculptures in the stairwells (there is always interesting art in the stairwells of cruise ships but these really caught my eye).  I think these were in the forward staircase.  They are both called Abandon by Toni Martelli.  I have always appreciated dandelions but never thought I would see them the subject of a sculpture!

When we got up to our room, we saw that our room steward was busy finishing up and so we took a seat in the Library (just two doors down).

Celebrity has switched to these aluminum water bottles.  We had grabbed these two when we were in Michael's Club with plans to take them ashore.

We were able to get into our room in time to enjoy our arrival in Belize.

Some of the tenders taking passengers ashore

We had an afternoon bird watching and city tour excursion and didn't have to meet on the pier until 2:15 p.m. so we decided to grab some lunch from the poolside grill and take it down to our room.  The turkey burgers really are quite amazing and made to order.
A neat sculpture in the stairwell outside the pool grill

We then headed down to the gangway about 1:30 p.m. and boarded the tender.  Belize requires masks ashore and so we had to take masks with us.

While we were waiting for the tour to start, I noticed these huge Magnificent Frigatebirds (I had also seen one from the balcony of the ship).  They are quite impressive!

The female (pictured here) has a white chest.

The male (pictured here) is all black except a red bulge around his neck that he can puff out (you can't see it in this photo).

We then boarded a trolley for our tour which was a bit unique.  I had assumed a bird watching tour would mean going to a park somewhere and looking for birds in a more natural landscape.  In reality, this tour would just be the trolley stopping in various neighborhoods and peering into the trees in people's (fenced in and often barbed wired) yards looking for birds.

I think this is a Tropical Kingbird

I think this is a Golden-fronted Woodpecker

We also made a stop at a historical Anglican Church.

After our excursion, we headed back on a tender.

Our evening plans included the 7:00 p.m. show of Travis Cloer, who is the longest running performer who has played Frankie Valli in "Jersey Boys."  We really enjoyed the show.

We then had a late dinner in Luminae and then wandered the shops before heading back to the room to retire.
