For breakfast, we decided to check out Johnny Rockets again and it was well worth it, although it started to rain lightly as we were finishing (we were sitting outside). Clearly it had rained overnight as they were trying to dry out the deck on the Boardwalk when we arrived.
Today we arrived at Labadee, Haiti, Royal Caribbean's private resort on the north side of Haiti. It was a cloudy day but we were determined to enjoy the resort.
We docked at about 10:00 a.m. and we decided to get off the ship after the initial rush, around 11:00 a.m. There are a number of hiking paths that take you off the beaten path that are well worth it.
We spent a little time on the beach before heading to find some food for lunch. Lunch was provided at several locations on the beach and was very good. The beaches were beautiful and the chairs were free to use.
As we started eating, the rain really started coming down so we stayed put under the pavilions until it slowed down. Then we headed to the artisan marketplace. The first artisan we walked past was so pushy and wouldn't let us leave until we bought something and so we decided to skip the rest of the market. We took the tram back towards the entrance and took a walk down to Dragon's lookout.
We were back on the ship by mid afternoon. Because of the rain they opened early the shops and bars onboard and added activities to the Cruise Compass. We did a little shopping before spending some time on the Rising Tide Bar. The bar travels between the Royal Promenade (deck 5) and Central Park (deck 8) and the bartenders in this bar were pretty good so we sat back, enjoyed a drink or two, and enjoyed the changing view.
This evening, we took it easy, wandered the ship a little after dinner and then ended up on our balcony to relax a bit before bed.
