Montego Bay, Jamaica - December 6, 2017

Today my husband and I went different directions as he wanted to give zip lining a try with my sister and that is not something that interested me at all.  So instead I went on an excursion with my niece, nephew, and brother-in-law.  We arrived at the terminal building a bit early which was to our advantage because they took those of us ready early and we enjoyed the trip in a bit of a smaller group than those that showed up just on time.

We started at Dolphin Cove where we had booked a dolphin encounter.  Before we could get in the water with the dolphins, we first had a chance to get to know Lisa, a stingray.

Then it was time for the dolphin encounter.  They do not allow cameras in the water with those participating and so I chose to hang back and take photos and videos of the kids.  I had to stand quite a ways from where they were but still got some good shots of both the kids with the dolphins as well as a lot of really great general shots of a variety of dolphins in the enclosure.  (I'm really glad I chose to hang back.  They have photographers that take pictures of all the participants but their prices are insane.  For a digital copy of all the photos taken by the photographer of our small group, it was $180!  Individual photos were $45 each!)

We had a few minutes to spare before it was time to move on to the beach and so we went and checked out a camel, donkey, and ostrich they also have.  Workers were around who let us feed some of the animals which my niece and nephew loved.

After a short bus ride, we arrived at Doctor's Cave Bathing Club for a couple hours at the beach.  This is a more family friendly beach (then say Margaritaville just down the road) where you can rent chairs and umbrellas if you would like plus they have restrooms, changing rooms, showers, and a restaurant on site.  The day was a beautiful day for just splashing in the ocean.

Before heading back to the ship, I had hoped to walk through a couple of souvenir shops however there is very little at the port.  They had some craft stands with nothing too exciting.  If you wanted to do any really shopping you needed to take a taxi to downtown.  So we headed back on the ship, to shower, find a snack, wait for my husband and sister to get back from zip lining, and relax for a bit before supper.

My husband and sister had a great time zip lining.  There were 6-8 lines.  Most of them were very short but the last one was over 1000 feet long and 25 stories high which provided great views of below.  My husband received a bit of cable rash stopping on the last one.  Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures as the only camera they took with them is a disposable one, which pictures have yet to be shared with me as I type this.

After a nice dinner, we decided to relax in the room before our nightly 10:30 p.m. $100 bag raffle in the shops.  We were unlucky for a second night in a row.
