Today is our first at sea day. Even though we were up quite late the night before, we naturally woke up early and so checked out the fitness center (which is a bit cramped and only occupies part of the front of the ship so the views aren't so great) before breakfast in the Lido Restaurant. The Lido has an omelette/eggs your way station which wasn't too busy yet. Then we spent some time exploring the ship and sitting on deck near the Sunset pool. (There were some umbrellas so my husband could enjoy the shade while I soaked in some sun.) Here are some photos around the ship:

A table for 8 we found in the upper level of the Lido Restaurant - an area that is clearly a well kept secret from the average cruiser |
Now that we are out in the ocean, the ship has started to rock a little and it was fun watching the Christmas tree in the Atrium sway. Check it out:
We usually eat breakfast and lunch in the Lido Restaurant and have dinner in the main dinning room (Scarlet Restaurant). So far the Lido buffets have been pretty disappointing. There is not a lot of variety. That said, Guy's Burgers, the Mongolian Wok, and the Pig & Anchor all have had huge lines each meal, enough to deter us from trying them so far. Tomorrow we may need to get to lunch early to try one of them.
After lunch today, we decided to drag the kids away from Camp Ocean (the kids day camp on the cruise) and let them loose in Carnival WaterWorks. There are two huge slides that were quite a bit of fun, two medium slides that my niece seemed to enjoy and a kiddie splash/play area. Here are some videos of the slides:

I also took my new waterproof camera in the pool and had fun taking underwater video and photos. None of them are exciting enough to post here but it did let me know it works quite well underwater and I look forward to the pictures I will be able to take on our snorkeling and scuba excursions.
Now I relax in the stateroom with a bottle of wine. Tonight is our first elegant night and the night they serve lobster so it should be a good dinner.
Tuesday was spent shopping (mostly in the watch shop), relaxing and again listening to music at night. Plus with our recent purchases in the Carnival Fun Shops we now have a vested interest in making the 10:30 p.m. nightly $100 bag raffle. Here are some video clips of two of our favorite groups:
Whiskey & Wine
String Classics with Spicatto Trio
