Grand Cayman is an island that does not have cruise docks and so all boats anchor in the harbor and tender in their passengers. There were 6 ships total in port today and we had the prime location, closest to the docks which made for some nice pictures. Additionally, Carnival hired Grand Cayman boats to tender in their passengers instead of using their lifeboats. This made for a more comfortable ride in with better photo opportunities and the tender boats could accommodate a lot of people. So here are some pictures of our ship, the harbor, and the other ships anchored today.

We booked the Discover Scuba excursion which was one of the first to leave the ship, meaning an early 6:45 a.m. meeting time. The goal of this excursion was to get a taste of scuba diving and did not certify us to dive alone in the future. We spent a little time on the dock going over basics, then practiced some basic skills in a rocky, shallow cove before heading out to a shipwreck. There was one instructor to 4 people (only 8 of us on the excursion). Our instructor was Lauren and she was really good.
The deepest we went was 27 feet. I was able to take along my new Nikon waterproof camera and so here are some photos and videos of what we saw.
Before heading back to the ship, we stopped in a couple of shops and bought a few little souvenirs. We were back in time to shower before lunch up on the Lido Deck. I had the Mongolian Wok which is very good (and evident by the long lines even on a port day). My husband had an excellent burger at Guy's Burger. That left the afternoon for blogging, people watching, relaxing, and then getting ready for formal night.
