Exotic Western Caribbean Cruise–Day 9–Travel Home–August 25, 2013

We were up late last night as we entered the Mississippi Delta and then again early this morning as we arrived in port.  The pilot was dropped off sometime after 9:00 p.m. last night to help us navigate the Mississippi.

We had breakfast in the main dining room and enjoyed one last formal meal.  Then it was time to wait for our zone to be called and disembark before heading to the airport for our flights home.
As we fly from Atlanta to Milwaukee I wanted to share some of the highlights of the trip in no particular order.

Alchemy Bar – This by far had the best drinks and the bartenders were true artists.  Click HERE and HERE for the two page drink menu.

Dinners in the Monet Dining Room – The food was incredible and the service was excellent except for a few bumps at the beginning of the week.  There were so many unique and interesting things to try that we often asked for more than one starter each and on occasion two main dishes.  Click HERE for a link to the Every day Menu.  See the end of each days’ blog posts for a link to each day’s menu.

Beach day at Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Honduras – Although this was a small beach to handle two large cruise ships, the water was perfect.  It was shallow out a long ways and sandy with no seaweed.  The water was calm with just the occasional wave.  It was perfect for the kids who didn’t want to leave.  And I had a blast just sitting in the shallow water with them as they played in the water and sand.  I’m not sure that this is a highlight for my husband though as it was quite hot and crowded.

Land Rover & Cave Excursion at Belize City, Belize – This was one of the best excursions I have been on.  The tour guides did such a great job with it.  My husband got to do a lot of off-road driving and the smile couldn’t be wiped off his face.  The cave was unique and I always enjoy the wildlife found on boat tours.

Punchliner Comedy Club – We really enjoyed the family friendly shows of both Cowboy Bill Martin and Michael Macy.  We also attended an adult only show of Michael Macy which was alright but not really our type of humor.
