At Sea - Celebrity Eclipse Honolulu to Vancouver Land Cruise Trip - May 15-19, 2023

Sea days are my favorite.  You can fill your day with activities, music, food, drink, and shows or you can just take it easy.  And everyone can go their own direction when they have different interests.

I was up early most mornings although there weren't any memorable sunrises.  Every morning, I enjoyed an almond milk latte and a few small bites in Tuscan Grill for the elite breakfast.  Paul joined me once or twice but often it was just a nice quiet time to enjoy the wake.

Bellini for breakfast?

A quiet place to work on my blog

A rainbow one morning!

This is actually the Oceanview Cafe (buffet) area very early one morning before the Elite breakfast opened.

We would often then have a full breakfast in the main dining room or the Spa Cafe (healthier fares).  They have an avocado toast with tomato and shredded egg on top that is really good.  It's also a bit of a quieter, peaceful space in the Solarium.

We hid five ducks around the ship, four of them were found on previous cruises since the re-start.  Here are where we hid a few of them.

One day, before it got cool I enjoyed some time on the promenade.  I then returned for sunset one evening after dinner on a day that was much cooler and windier.

A not quite as impressive sunset another day.

Seas were a bit rough for about a day and a half starting the afternoon of the second day but they weren't the roughest seas I have ever seen.  I wore my ReliefBand for part of one day but I'm not sure I truly needed it.  It was enough that they did rearrange the shows so that the acrobats didn't perform on the rockiest evening.

Then we had a nice calm day on Thursday.  Thursday overnight, we ran into fog that lasted all the way until we arrived in Victoria so we got used to hearing the fog horn.

We did have to do a detour on our last sea day for a medical evacuation.  We cruised towards the mouth of the Columbia River near Oregon where the US Coast Guard and a helicopter met us around lunchtime to do the evacuation.  We cruised at a pretty quick pace Friday morning to get there as quickly and then could leisurely continue on and still make our Victoria port stop on time on Saturday.

Here is a link to the US Coast Guard's video from that Helicopter evacuation.  I understand the helicopter was too heavy to actually land on the helipad so it lowered a stretcher as it hovered over the helipad.

I also always try to take some time to enjoy art around the ship.

There was no plaque and Guest Relations was not at all helpful in figuring out the the artist or name of this art work but it is pretty impressive and sits just outside the Ensemble Lounge.

Sometimes you see yourself in the artwork.

We all need a piece of art like this in our homes to remind us of our beauty.

By Wednesday, the temperatures had dropped and you could get a prime chair by the pool!

We ate a couple lunches in the main dining room but also really enjoyed the Spa Cafe (for a few breakfasts as well).  We found the Solarium to be a quieter, peaceful place with a number of healthier and dairy free options.  The buffet also had some really great options.   There was always a vegan/vegetarian section and dishes were clearly labeled as to what they were with labels about common allergens.  One lunch, they even had a vegan taco bar with sautéed chickpeas, plant based sour cream, a plant based cheese-like sauce and the normal salsa toppings.

I joined the guest choir although only made 2 of the 4 practices but still enjoyed the performance.  We performed in the Eclipse Talent Show on the last sea day.  We were just after the Ukulele performers and just before the hula dancers.

One afternoon, I enjoyed a Music and Mixology event for Captain's Club Elite and higher.  They made three cocktails from three different countries - Manhattan, a spiked Primm's (I believe), and a Mai Tai.

I also attended a wine tasting for Select and above held in the main dining room.  This was quite a large event.

And Paul and I attended a backstage tour.

They handed us each a glass of sparkling wine to start (which means I got two!).

Scooters used in a production show - maybe I am qualified to join the cast! :)

One in their cast gets designated (and an extra stipend) to handle all the laundry and mending for the costumes of the whole cast.

One afternoon I did a martini flight which is always fun!

We spent a fair amount of time in lounges like Cellar Masters, the Martini Bar, and the Sky Observation Lounge.

Tuti, our Sommelier at dinner would get me a bottle of wine that I could continue enjoying in the afternoons on sea days.  This Chenin Blanc was one of my favorites.

Here are a few photos of our evening wear.

Outside the main dining room where we ate dinner every night and some breakfasts and lunches.

One night, I spent some time in the hot tub in the Solarium which was nice and quiet.

Paul and his mom really enjoyed the comedian magian Bob Brizendine who performed a show one night and an afternoon matinee a few days later.

On our last sea day which was also our last Evening Chic (similar to a formal) night, we really enjoyed the show Amade.

Here is a tour I did of the ship.

Here is a tour of our room.
