We had an early arrival into Cozumel this morning and I always enjoy watching us come into port so I was up early.
Mariner of the Seas - the only other ship in Cozumel, a very quiet day in Cozumel. The Prima was the only ship docked at the downtown pier (Punta Langosta). Mariner of the Seas was docked at the International Pier.

Our excursion had a 12:20 p.m. meeting time on the pier and I wanted to be on shore even earlier to capture photos and video of the ship which made for a challenge to our dining schedule. So we decided to eat a very late breakfast at The Local at about 10:00 a.m. We were able to get an outdoor table.
Paul didn't feel he found enough to eat at The Local for breakfast (he was really hoping they would have their all day menu to make it more of a brunch) so we headed up to the Observation Lounge to see what food they had out in their small buffet.
We got off the ship around 11:15-11:30 a.m.
This was our third stop at this particular pier (fifth stop to Cozumel) in just over a year so I knew exactly where to go to get the views I wanted of the ship. There is this great upper level to the shop area that I don't think many find as there never are many people there despite its ideal view.
She sure is beautiful!
Our excursion was Three Reef Snorkel by Boat. We had a group of about 20 people which was not too bad of a size.
Mariner of the Seas - We cruised right past the Mariner of the Seas for some great shots.
This was my first chance to try my new underwater housing for my iPhone. I purchased a SeaLife SportDiver Underwater Smartphone Housing with the ultimate goal of using it in Galapagos next year but I knew it would be good to practice. It really was quite easy to use and worked great! I'm still trying to get the hang of when I need the red filter and when it is best not to use it.
When we got back, we cleaned up for the evening, went for pre-dinner drinks at the Metropolitan Bar and eventually made our way to Hudson's for dinner.
NCL has implemented a new main dining room menu on the Prima (with plans to expand it to the rest of their fleet) that no longer rotates. They have expanded what they offer and now include a design-your-own pasta dish. Below is the penne with pesto sauce and meatballs. We found enough to eat several nights with the constant menu but feel it would get old after anything more than a five or seven day cruise (depending on how much you take advantage of other venues).
In the evening, we listened to a little music in the Penrose Atrium then we headed to the theater. We had reservations to Noise Boys which really was quite great! Talented beatboxing and tap dancing combine with vocals and a couple musicians for a high energy show.
The theater is very versatile. The seats in the main section can be pushed back completely to make a dance club. They can be pulled forward most of the way with room for an extra stage and table seating (like shown below) or they can be pulled forward all the way to the main stage. The transformation is supposed to be quite quick although we never stayed up late enough to see it happen.
We missed sail away because it happened just as this show was starting but with it being dark and no other ships left, there wouldn't have been much to see. After the show, we headed back to the room to relax.
