Family B2B Cruise - June 26-27 - At Sea and Grand Cayman

Our first at sea day of the second cruise gave me some more insight into our new passengers.  The sun rose over the back of the ship (I love the sun rising over the wake) and I found the aft pool a lot busier than the week before as passengers scrambled to stake out their favorite lounge chairs by the pool.  The only people I saw up this early on the cruise before were people interested in the sunrise.  Most of the people this day weren't too interested in the sunrise.

Then I headed to Coffee & Cones for my routine latte and discovered the first of a number of very rude passengers.  There are a lot of good people on this sailing but the rude ones seem more vocal and prevalent than the previous sailing.  I smiled at the crew standing behind the counter when it was my turn and greeted him warmly.  He almost seemed relieved to see me as he tried to meet the demands of the passenger in front of me.  The crew work so hard and don't deserve the poor treatment they too often get.

We spent a lot of the day trying to find quiet spots to relax and discretely people watch.  The pools were far more packed than the previous week so we avoided the Lido deck.  We enjoyed lunch in the main dining room.  My sister and mom took a wine mixing seminar while I had a chance to catch up with my dad.  And then this night was our first formal night of this week.

Monday was a port day in Grand Cayman.  We had been there before and weren't looking to do much but I always love the ship photos I get at ports where we have to take a water shuttle.  After the sunrise, we sat down to breakfast and then the Disney Dream pulled up next to us.  The water was like glass.

We took some time to just relax since we weren't in a hurry to get on shore.  Eventually we made our way down to the Island dining room to pick up shuttle tickets (we got X-Ray Fish) and almost immediately afterwards an announcement was made that tickets were no longer necessary so we headed straight down to the gangway.

As soon as we were back on board, we noticed the pools were still quiet (as most people were out exploring Grand Cayman) so we spent a couple hours by the pool, enjoying drinks, finding food from the Salty Dog Grill/Slice, and socializing until it started to pour.  Once rumbles of thunder could be heard, we got out of the pool and got cleaned up.  Paul enjoyed some time in the room that afternoon.  I hung out in Crooners, had a few drinks, worked on my photos/videos/blog, and chatted with my sister, her husband, and my nephew.

Dinner tonight was in Sabitinis, a specialty restaurant on board.  Our fare came with a free specialty dining meal each cruise (and the rest of our group had a second one each week for being in a suite).  We weren't able to use it for the first week because they booked out so fast but were able to get in for this night.  The food was pretty good and I really appreciated who well they could accommodate my dairy allergy, even better than the main dining room surprisingly.  The food was all made to order and they had a lot of dishes that didn't even have dairy to begin with.  This was by far my best food experience.

Before turning in for the night, we decided just to relax in the padded chairs at the Movies Under the Stars pool.  They were between movies so it was nice and quiet and a great place to relax.
