Bartolome and Santa Cruz - Celebrity Xpedition Land/Cruise Tour - November 15, 2023

We woke up this morning to some beautiful views.

Our first excursion of the day was all about the view, one of the most iconic landscape views of the Galapagos.  It was described as a "long, steep walk 'to the top'" which included 372 steps and it was a climb that was worth it!

The Celebrity Flora (Celebrity's newest ship in the Galapagos) was parked right near us.

This is a pretty barren island.

After our hike, we returned to the ship to get ready for another deep water snorkel.  This was a pretty exciting snorkel.  In addition to a lot of colorful fish and starfish, we saw a ray plus several white-tipped reef sharks.  Check out my snorkel video in an earlier post (or on my YouTube channel) to see the sharks.

Paul snapped a photo of me right after jumping in.  He tried using one of those cheap water pouches we had gotten free with his phone but quickly gave up and just enjoyed the views.

In the afternoon, the captain circled the island of Daphne Major while our Excursion Director, Cristina talked about the island and wildlife we saw.  We were encouraged to find a comfortable spot on any of the open decks where the commentary would be broadcast through the speakers.  With so few cabins on deck 6, we mostly had the deck to ourselves.

Our afternoon excursion was a beach walk at Bachas Beach, on Santa Cruz Island.

Back on the ship, we skipped the future cruise presentation but joined the group for the nightly briefing and then dinner at the Darwin Restaurant.  I understand there was a dance party that evening but we definitely didn't have the energy for that.
