Panama Canal Cruise - Day 6 - Huatulco - February 17, 2022
The Captain (and my Dad) gave us a heads up that we would be turning around in a tight port and backing into our pier at Huatulco, Mexico this morning. We were scheduled to pick up the pilot at 7:00 a.m. Because of how we came into port, this meant a chance to watch the sun rise from our balcony.
Marina Rescate (I believe this is like their Coast Guard - They escorted us quite a ways.)
Here is a time lapsed video of the Emerald Princess turning around and backing in taken from the perspective of our aft balcony.
Juvenile Brown Pelican
Terns and Gulls
Juvenile Brown Pelicans (the ship scared away all the gulls that were hanging out with them)
Laughing Gulls
Brown Pelicans
We did not have an excursion today and there wasn't too much to see in port but we wanted to get off to get some photos of the ship. There was a park walkway up a hill that gave us a great vantage point. It was there we ran into my parents who decided to continue on to town to see a beautiful local church with colorful murals. We took our photos from the top and headed back towards the beach area to check out the birds which had been so noisy as we walked off the ship.
