Our day started long before the sun came up so that we could be hiking while the birds were still active. We arrived at Bear Lake in Florida around 8:30 a.m. and walked the Sweetwater Trail that connects Bear Lake with Krull Lake. The last half mile before you reach Krull Lake is a really neat boardwalk with a suspension bridge.

Krull Lake - I appreciate the warning to swim at your own risk and not dive.... but I think a key element necessary to swim is missing.... |

We unfortunately, didn't see any alligators. |
We enjoyed a picnic lunch before heading to Navarre Beach. We had one more stop before checking into the hotel, a visit to the
Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center. It is a small non-profit organization that does great work with sea turtles and has a few really neat exhibits.

After checking into the hotel, we spent some time sitting by the pool and then walking the beach. We are staying at the Springhill Suites in Navarre Beach which appears to be a brand new hotel. If you look at Google Satellite images, it just shows an empty lot. The room is really nice with a separate sitting area. And if we had known this beautiful pool was heated, we would have brought our suits.
There was a beautiful sunset tonight.
Fortunately, the sun sets early, giving us lots of evening to unwind and recover from such a busy day. Especially since I'm hoping to get up early enough to see the sunrise tomorrow.
