Solo Camping

I think I will make this an annual event.  I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated.  This year I went to Long Lake Recreational Area which is part of the Kettle Moraine North State Park.
This is a really nice campground with a less than a mile walk to get to the beach and fishing pier.  Here are some pictures of my campsite (site 951):

You see above that this year I am using a bivy on a cot instead of a tent.  It makes set up and clean up so nice and I get to sleep under the stars which was incredible the first night.  The second night it got cloudy and started to rain around 2:30 a.m.  Fortunately I was ready, I had packed the car with everything except sleeping apparatus and I had a tarp partially pulled over me which was really easy to pull over and cover me completely when it started raining.  Thus I stayed perfectly dry and it took me no more than 5 minutes to clean up the next morning.
Here are some pictures from my walk to the beach:

I also spent a fair amount of time laying in the hammock reading or writing.  It was a great weekend.
