Today was the first time it didn't rain in weeks. With all this recent rain, I knew the waterfalls around us would be flowing strong. So not wanting to drive too far (my husband just drove back from Wisconsin Friday and had enough of the car for a while), we decided to explore Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover, a suburb of Birmingham and we were not disappointed. They have quite a few waterfalls throughout the property and we tried to hike to as many of them as we could. My favorite was Tunnel Falls.
We parked at the Boulder Field trailhead parking lot and so our first glimpses of the park were these huge, impressive boulders.
Then we ventured to the northeast just a little on the white trail to see our first waterfall.
We then backtracked a little to the blue line to see the lower, upper, and third unnamed falls.

We continued along the blue trail to the southwest, where we discovered the trail had been made into a waterfall itself, making our trek just a little more challenging.
Once back on a dry trail, we headed south on the blue trail and then west on the white trail to tunnel falls and an unnamed falls.
From there we followed the white trail which continued along a creek back to boulder field and the parking lot.
It was such a beautiful day for a hike!
